Artwork Guidelines

-Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
-Encapsulated Post Script (.EPS)
-Adobe Photoshop (.PSD) (300dpi or greater)
-Portable Document Format (.PDF)
-Tagged Image File Format (.TIFF) (300dpi or greater)

-JPG and PNG files that are 300dpi or greater aren’t the best, but can usually be worked with.

ACcepted file Types

Files under 300dpi are generally not acceptable for print work. Taking a lower resolution file and increasing its resolution to 300dpi (upsampling) will often result in a blurry image that is also unacceptable for print work. As technology gets better the algorithms used for upsampling have gotten much better and often the result is adequate for screen printing, but not always, send what you have and we’ll let you know if it will work.

If creating a raster format image (.PSD, .TIFF, some .PDF files) your artwork should be created at the finished print size (if you want the print on the shirt to be 12" wide, the art needs to be created at 12" wide) at 300dpi from the start to guarantee a good result.

.JPG files are generally not the best choice for print work as artifacts are often introduced to the image and details are lost in the compression process every time the file is saved.  We can often use .JPG images with no issues, but it is not the best choice and may incur fees to fix the image if artifacting is severe.

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher files are absolutely not acceptable file formats for screen printing.  If you provide files in these formats artwork charges will definitely apply because we will have to recreate your artwork from scratch.

Convert Type To Outlines (in vector formats)

If creating artwork in Adobe Illustrator (or Corel Draw) please convert all type to outlines. Select all the type in your design then go to the Type menu and select "Create Outlines." This will change the type to actual objects and will allow us to view your design accurately without including the actual font files. If you don't do this step your artwork may appear different on our computers if we don't have the same fonts installed as you.

Don't rasterize type (in raster format programs)

If creating artwork in Adobe Photoshop (or other raster format programs) please do not rasterize the type. Please leave all type as fonts and attach the actual font files (.TTF, .OTF) in your email to us when you send the art file. Rasterizing the type can often make it blurry. If you provide the font files it will lead to the best possible print.

halftones

Please allow us to halftone your files for you. There are a lot of variables to address in the screen printing process when it comes to halftones. We need to be able to control those variables and match them to our film output screen making procedures to ensure that the artwork will be printable and interference patterns won’t occur between the mesh and halftones.

File Submission

You can submit files to us in a number of ways.

-Email files (25mb or less) to us.
-Upload your files to a service such as DropBox or Google Drive and send us the link, or ask us to setup a DropBox shared folder for you to upload your file to.
-Email or call to setup an appointment to bring your file to us on a CDR or Flash Drive
